“YOUR FIVE MINUTES – SOMEONE`S WHOLE LIFE”

Team of Institute of Blood Transfusion Nis with support of City Municipality of Palilula, within winter campaign of voluntary blood giving “Your five minutes – someone`s whole life” manned in the citizens` office “Palilula”. Beside others residents from the territory of Municipality, from 9 am to 1 pm, to the call to give voluntarily blood  responded and president of Municipality Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic and member of Municipal Council Boban Mikic. City Municipality of Palilula constantly supports this kind of actions of Institute of Blood Transfusion, because we think that public figures should set an example to the other citizens. In this way raises civil solidarity and influence on social responsibility – said Boban Mikic.

In Institute of Blood Transfusion of Nis they say that this kind of action in the city municipalities meet with good response, and that in every municipality they have 20 to 30 blood volunteers on each visit. – Each working day we have action of this type on the territory of whole south-east Serbia. We can say that this actions is very successful, because for year we collect more the 20.000 units of blood. It is quite enough for Clinical Center Nis, where for treatment come people from surrounding towns – said Igor Peric from Institute fo Blood Transfusion. He added that problems with supplies of blood are in the summer periods, when people go on vacation, but that is past family blood donation, or that for patient blood requires from members of his immediate family.
